Good Grief Published and Comic Coloring

Fri Aug 29, 2008, 12:20 PM
The childrens book Good Grief is now published and available online. It was written by Chad Bonadonna and illustrated by me. It will be in select bookstores such as Barnes and Nobles in the Virginia area soon. Chad and I just made a live television appearance this morning on Richmond's WTVR show Virginia This Morning to discuss the book, and we will both be doing a book signing in Hampton on September 19th.

Here's a excerpt from the press release: "Good Grief follows a ten-year-old boy as he struggles to get over the loss of his father. It chronicles his grieving process from disbelief to anger to acceptance in the year following his father’s death. It highlights the experiences he goes through when dealing with the fear and anxiety that children feel after losing a parent. With the support of his family, friends, and a child’s bereavement group, this boy grows to accept the challenges and learns that even when the loved one is not with you in person he or she is always with you in your heart.

With vibrant illustrations by Ryan T. Hooley, Good Grief perfectly captures the emotions that children feel when they lose someone they loved dearly. Heartfelt and inspiring, Bonadonna’s tale will surely touch the hearts of those kids who are going through the same situation he did and help them cope with the grieving process. Death may take away a person you love but it can never take away the special memories you shared."

Here's a link for anyone interested in buying the book online. [link] It's available in hardback and paperback. All proceeds go the Bon Secours program Kidz N Grief, so it's for a good cause.

On another note, I will be submitting some comic panels that I am attempting to color in hopes that I will soon have some stuff that I can submit to comic companies. I will be coloring other peoples art, which is very challenging and rewarding. Coloring books is where I got started in art as a kid, and coloring is still one of the things I enjoy most in my art process. Any constructive input to help me improve my coloring would be much apperciated.

Many thanks to all who have faved and commented on my submitted artwork. There is a lot more to come.
